Pronto Plate Lithography

Term:
Fall 2010
Enrollment Status:
Open

Pronto plates are a quick and inexpensive way to learn lithography and to use lithographic images in your art work. These plates require minimal processing with no need for chemicals, are ready to draw and behave similarly to other lithographic surfaces. Using hand-drawn images, as well as photocopied images, this workshop will introduce participants to the flexibility of pronto plates: how to draw on them, photocopy images onto the plates, use of toner washes, printing by press or by hand, editioning and problem solving. No experience required! Plates will be provided, and a list of additional supplies is available on the SCAA website.

Jenny has been teaching lithography, relief printing and book arts workshops and classes for over 10 years. She earned a BA from Wellesley College and an MFA from the University of Iowa. Her work has been shown in juried and solo exhibitions the US as well as abroad.
